Adventures of an Intern: 7 Things you Learn

Hello Lovelies! As promised, I bring you my work post which will be about what I am doing for the summer. An internship is one of our school's requirements in order to graduate. I both loved and hated the fact that I will be working while its summer vacation. This will be the last summer break I'll be experiencing which is why it is important for me to enjoy it. I am ecstatic that I will be leaving school soon and I will be off to earn actual money to sustain myself, but it also terrifies me to leave university and be on the path to adulthood. I am worried about employment right after college. I wouldn't really have the work experience most companies look for, but how exactly will I earn that experience if they don't try to hire me? College is my comfort zone. It's easy to create friends, I can procrastinate if I don't feel like doing anything and I can have a little fun. I have always been confident, at least I think I have and now that I am near the end of this chapter of my life, I am actually scared of not becoming the person I want to be. I am scared of not fulfilling my dreams. There are so many things that both terrify and excite me about going to and leaving university, but that's another topic for another post. For now, let me tell you a little about my internship.

I will be working for a car company in the Sales Department. I am assigned to work in the Sales Information and Process Management Division. I will mostly be doing admin. work which I pretty much expected. We were told that we aren't to be given the important work because there are people assigned and fully paid to do them. Those types of work would also require extra care because the department handles obviously the sales and the incentives given to the dealers. Basically, we are to photocopy, sort and arrange documents, scan files, encode, etc. I also can't give you much detail since we are to maintain confidentiality of data. Anyway I think you get the gist of the work I'll be doing.

There are several things I've thought of and felt in my stay there, which are:

1. The Fear of the unknown. My first day sort of terrified me because I don't really know the type of work I'll be doing. I've expected a lot of admin. work, even though I did want to help out on some projects and be able to brainstorm with the team. The fear of the unknown had me that first day. Being me, I want to help out and do something great with my life. Before I end my internship I'd like to feel like I actually did something to help the company.

2. Work Overload. I started off not having much to do. I always ask if there is anything they'd like me to do. I have this mind that tells me to keep asking for work when I don't have anything to do. Does it mean I like doing what I do? Am I just trying to keep myself busy not to get bored? Or am I just trying to make the most out of the day? I don't know but I like it. I like keeping myself busy and working in a fast paced environment. After a few days, I've been getting tons of work to do and I no longer know if I should be happy because I can keep myself busy and not feel the time pass by or be a little sad because I'll be tired and I'll probably get more paper cuts. Apparently, I've been getting a lot of paper cuts from handling the documents, and it's not fun at all. I hate getting them, but I can't seem to avoid them. I try to be careful with the papers, but it's like I'm a paper cut magnet.

3. It's important to love what you do. I saw this little note which was attached to the CPU of the computer I've been using. I thought the quote was very fitting for me because I always try to love what I do, no matter what it is I learn to enjoy doing it. If I did not I would be dreading doing it for the whole day. I'd probably even think of it at night asking myself "Why am I not doing what I love?". I have this issue where I'd like to do what I enjoy doing and if I don't I'd instantly feel like I am wasting my life. I don't want to waste my time doing something that does not interest me at all.

At work, I am not fond of photocopying documents. Back when my friend and I were still looking for companies to apply to, there were a few companies we didn't want to apply to because we were told the interns were only asked to photocopy documents, and now I am asked to do just that. I can't do anything about it, but to endure doing it. I always tell myself that we can't always get what we want. There are some tasks that must be done and I am still just an intern, so if I am told to do it, I would have to do it. My grades rely on the work I do, which is why I have to do great work even if its just photocopying. If I photocopy documents the whole day, the following day I'd feel like the meme below that just doesn't want to go to work. I somehow always get that out of my mind though when I think of what I want to accomplish in my life. I can't let simple tasks get me down. No matter how much I don't like it, I have other things I'll be doing which I will actually like and the it won't make me feel like it was a waste of time.

I would like to stress out the important things these little things do. If you did not have a photocopy of a document you were to send out, let's say a Certificate of some sort for registration, you would not have your receiving copy for proof that it has been sent and it wasn't your fault if ever it gets lost. If you didn't have people to arrange your documents, it would be a disaster if you are trying to look for an important file. You get what I mean?

4. It's important to have a lot of patience. Let's say you do not love the work you do, or you do, but there's too much work to be done, I can't explain enough the importance of patience. We all have to suck it in sometimes and just do what we have to. There will be tasks you would not like, even hate, but you would have to do it. Just do what you have to and be like

when you get out of work. Tomorrow shouldn't be so bad, always think positive. If it is,and you hate what you do, maybe it is about time you think twice about your work.

5. Work Smart. The meme says it all. Sometimes its better to find the easy or smart way of doing something instead of just doubling your efforts. Think of how much time and effort you'll not be exerting if you think before you act.

6. Salary, or in my case, allowance money. Is this not the reason you've been working? you don't really work just because you love your work, and you just want to do what you love, but because the company is giving you something in return for the work you've done. May it be money, benefits or experience for your resume, you get something back. We all have to sustain ourselves and we do it with money. If you are a fresh graduate, you may endure bad work for experience to get better work, or if you are like me and you need experience to be able to graduate and get grades [because internship is graded]. Honestly, will you work for free? Spend 8 hours doing things your boss tells you to do just because?

Another thing, I've heard there are companies that say this meme a lot:
Oh I really hope it does not happen to me. We were told that if we do good work, the company usually offers the graduates work right before you graduate which will be convenient. We were not told that we are to get a good salary, but I already expected it. If you just graduated I don't really think you could expect much. I feel sorry for people who are told this meme to though.

7. Not Enough Time for Me. At the end of the day, I always notice that it's usually too late to do some "me time". I get off at around 5, sometimes past five because I still have work to finish and I'll probably be home after 30 minutes. The gym I go to will be closed by the time I get there and I'll be too tired to care. I told myself I'll be working out more often, but I can't seem to do it when I have work the next day. I'd like to work out and live healthy, but it is too hard when lunch consists of eating at fast food places which are the only stores near the office and I can't work out after work because the gym would be closed and it will be too dark or late to jog in the park. I also find it hard to blog at night because I'd be exhausted and the only thing I'd like to do is watch a few Youtube videos and go to bed.

There are so many things I'd like to do before I graduate and start to work, and I'm scared I'll spend my life inside an office I don't like and I'll be doing work I don't want, which is why I'll be doing Project Me.This project will consist of me trying my dreams and living out my life. I realized how important creativity is for me and I wish to try out several things like writing a book, creating Youtube videos, continuing my blog posts and designing clothes. I refuse to live my life not doing what I want. I want to travel the world! I want to see what every country has to offer. I am not entirely sure what my plan will be, but I do know it will make me happy. If you are like me and you aren't sure what you'll be doing yet, don't fret and take things one step at a time. It's scary to leave your comfort zone, but you'll find something that will help you see the brighter side of the day and help you get through the hard times to be able to fulfill all of your dreams. Dream Big, Fly High. [I don't know if someone already said that but I like it, if someone has, kudos to the creator]

Note: I'll probably make this a series. I think it has a nice ring to it "Adventures of an Intern". If you liked my post, please subscribe or follow me with your google account. That's all for now, thank you for reading and I'll see you soon.

Movie Review: Life as We Know it

Hello Everyone. I have no work today! It's a good day to just relax and enjoy the little things. I forgot to mention that I am currently doing my internship. I will be working for a car company in the Sales Department. I am to post a draft I've been making regarding starting work, which will be up soon. Anyway, I've recently watched a movie called "Life As We Know It" Starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel

The movie is basically about Holly (Heigl) and Messer (Duhamel) who can't stand each other, taking care of their orphaned godchild Sophie. Holly is an upcoming caterer while Messer is a network sports director. Sophie is the daughter of their best friends who unfortunately had a car accident and died. The parents named them the guardians if they both die. For them to raise Sophie right, the pair must put aside their bickering and find a way to learn all about parenthood.

I really liked this film even though it was predictable. I was thinking of what would happen next and unfortunately, I was always right. I did love the screen chemistry though and thought that the pair were very cute. I enjoyed watching all of their bickering. I loved Sophie. I thought she was adorable and Greg Berlanti was good at showing just enough of her reactions.

I've shed a few tears when Holly found out about the accident. I don't know why but I feel for her at that moment. Like I said, even though the movie was predictable I enjoyed it. I thought it was a good laid back movie that would be nice to watch on your day off.

The movie revolves around the love story of Holly and Messer, but I thought that it was not just about romance. It's also an inspiring story about friendship. It shows how far a true friend would go. Could you just imagine taking care of a child that isn't even yours for how many years. I loved that they loved Sophie.

Note: I thought the social worker was a tad weird. She redeemed herself in the end though, because even though she became a little crazier, she was actually of help.

I want to see a sequel. I'd like to see how Sophie grew up and how she sees her new mom and dad. Will she know she was an orphan? Will she call them mom and dad still? Will Holly and Messer get married? What will happen to Messer's work? What will happen to Holly's Business? There are so many questions I'd like to be answered even though I don't think they plan on creating a sequel. If they do plan on creating a sequel I wish they'd create a finer script. I recommend the film to everyone interested in a "comfort movie" and want to relax to something light and a little funny.

I'd give it a 7 out of 10

Fruit Shake Diet

Tadaaaaa!
Good morning everyone!
I juat got back from the gym and decided to make a fruit and veggie shake for my lunch. Let me remind everyone I did not go to a nutritionist to ask for a recommended diet. I just wanted to try something out, which is to try and replace 1 or 2 of my meals with fruits and veggies or a fruit and veggie shake.
I am using Blogaway which is a phone app for blogging. I just tried to insert an image, but it's not showing on the workspace.
I've put in 2 mangoes, A big slice of watermelon, a carrot, a cucumber, 2 bananas, 1/4 pineapple, 2 apples and a big american orange. Actually I think they're called naval oranges. I also added half a cup of water with a teaspoon of sugar.
I have to say, one thing I really love about fruit shakes is how it can go however you like. I can put in a lot mangoes and not add sugar, or add a lot watermelon because it tastes great.
Do you guys like this type of shake? What's your favorite fruit and veggie combination?

My First Book~ My Thoughts

Hi guys!

I know I haven't blogged in a while. I apologize. I have been so busy with real life that I barely had time to log on. I just finished my final examinations and so here I am again! Yay! Anyway, since I've just gotten back, I haven't really been able to finish any new books to review. I do plan to create one though. Has anyone ever read so many books that you've thought of creating one yourself? Well, I have. I've recently decided to finally put on paper, in this case Microsoft Word, a story that has been playing around my mind a lot. I don't know how many people would be able to read this cause I've been out from the blog for a long time, but do you guys like inspirational books? Those books that still have a little romance, but the focus of the story is on self improvement and/or development? Well that's the book I plan to create.

I have been working on my story when I realized several things:

1. It's difficult to complete a draft. I tried to put together the chapters I have in mind, what I'd like to happen in those chapters and some events or lessons I want the chapters to show. I found out that it was a very difficult task. It's the time you try to put together everything you want to happen, no matter how vague the events are. I feel like most of the time, I have so many things I want to put it that it would be too long, even though I was planning on making it as short as it could be, but as entertaining and interesting as I could. I don't want to write something too long, readers would not want to actually finish it.

2. It's tiring to check if it's grammatically correct. One thing I enjoy about blogging is how free I could be with the format, the language, pretty much everything. I don't always check my whole post for incorrect grammar. I know I should and I suck at it, but that's the point, my blog is my freedom wall and I shall enjoy my grammatically incorrect sentences! I may get a lot of hate for it, but *flips hair* I type what I like. Whenever I blog, I usually just type away. I literally just think of a topic and start typing. I don't have to check everything, I just have to share my thoughts, but if I actually want to create a nice book, I have to check and recheck everything. I would even be asking people to read and check it for me.

3. It's a long process. Writing a book will require months. If you didn't already know, I am a college student who have tons of interest. My main problem with writing a book is the time. I intend to give it as much of my free time as possible, maybe even write chapters while waiting for a class or something, but I can't guarantee as much time as I would like. This writing process will definitely push me to my limits. I welcome it though because I enjoy a good challenge.

4. I'm worried I may not be able to maintain the emotions I want to portray. Since this will be a long writing process, I'm worried about how I'd feel about what I'm writing in the future. I mean, there are certain situations wherein I pour my heart out when typing, and if I continue it at a later time I may not feel the same and ruin the moment. It hasn't happened to me yet and I'm already worried. Slap me?

5. I enjoy pouring my heart out!  I love what I'm doing right now. I am passionate about the story I am writing and whenever I type about something I really relate to, I just have these little pinches in my chest. I feel like I'm divulging a little bit of myself in the pages and I really hope people would see and understand it. My future readers will know about how I really think of certain situations and how I felt at times. I can see why authors love to write. It's very liberating even if what you're writing is fiction. What I'm writing is fiction, but I always try and pour my heart out. I think the book in the making will contain a piece of the author no matter how impossible the story is.

6. I love it! I just love the thought of writing and people reading what I write. It's one of the many reasons I've started to blog. It's not always about how fun it would be if people shared the same opinions, but actually speaking out about something you're interested in. I believe in and love how people have different opinions on certain topics and I enjoy reading and understanding how they see the world. I love how I get to create a story people may or may not like. Writing gives me some sort of peace. It also allows me to somehow live vicariously through the characters in the story. The story may not always have those perfect characters and may experience really bad stuff, but oh the spice of life! It's similar to when reading a book, you sort of get to live in another world. You won't always want to live vicariously through some characters, but you get to entertain yourself with it or give your life a little more excitement through it.

Well that's it! The current things I realized. By the way, I'll be doing not so daily blogs, even though they wouldn't all revolve around books, boys and food. Follow me if you'd like to receive updates about my posts and Thank you for reading! xo~

Book Review: Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

Archer's Voice
~1st Person POV

Another 5 star read! Archer's voice is my favorite book in the series. It's already the fourth book in the Signs of love series. It being the book for Sagittarius. I love love love this book! I want more from Mia Sheridan and I want it now please! The author blew me away.

Synopsis from Amazon:
"When Bree Prescott arrives in the sleepy, lakeside town of Pelion, Maine, she hopes against hope that this is the place where she will finally find the peace she so desperately seeks. On her first day there, her life collides with Archer Hale, an isolated man who holds a secret agony of his own. A man no one else sees.

Archer's Voice is the story of a woman chained to the memory of one horrifying night and the man whose love is the key to her freedom. It is the story of a silent man who lives with an excruciating wound and the woman who helps him find his voice. It is the story of suffering, fate, and the transformative power of love."

I was bawling by the time I finished the book. This book deserved more than the 5 stars I could give it. It was a beautiful story everyone should read. I cried several times.I even wished I was Bree at some parts(That's how much I loved the story). I can feel Archer. I feel sad and proud a lot of times. I can't really explain how much this book gave me the "feels". I have respect for both Bree and Archer. I cannot believe Mia Sheridan topped her previous books with this one. I want to read more from Archer and Bree's Story. I want to read about their future. I want to see what will happen next, so if the author sees this, could you please make another book about them?!

Adam Nicklas as My Archer Hale ♥

Archer is a misunderstood and misjudged handsome "hermit" who happened to have one of the worst pasts. He first had this scruffy beard and long hair. At first I wasn't very good in picturing him. I've never really liked long hair and facial hair on guys, but as the story progresses, you will see things will be better for me *winks*. He was just a child in some ways. Even so, he was attractive. Archer is now one of my favorite heroes!

Bree on the other hand is a beautiful compassionate woman who ran away. She was kind and found her home in Pelion in just a short amount of time. I thought her friendly personality was admirable. I could say everyone could use a little Bree in their home towns. She wasn't an overbearing insecure woman who constantly need reassurance from her man. She was strong, and she did not just give up.

Oh I never thought I'd like how Archer was mute. He couldn't speak, but he was super intelligent. He even taught himself how to use sign language. As you read the story, you will see just how smart Archer is that you couldn't help but respect how he is. I didn't pity him. I respected him because of everything he did and how he handled it. If I can I even want my own Archer Hale.

The story was definitely different. I applaud Mia Sheridan for making unique stories every time.

Book Review: Tangled by Emma Chase

~1st Person POV

Drew Evans is an edible sexy book boyfriend everyone should get to know. I absolutely loved this book! There were a lot of good-natured banters, some not that made me want to read more. I love reading from the hero's point of view. I have to admit how I absolutely liked how it was written. I believed in the thoughts and actions of the characters and they were true for some of my friends which made me believe in it so much more.

What is it about?

Synopsis from Amazon:
"Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without."

When I read this blurb, I just couldn't help but get the book. Aside from the interesting synopsis. I have to admit that the cover was very attractive. Oh by the way..

Look at what we have here...

Uhm, so now do you see how tempting it is to read the book? I like how guys are clean shaved, but one look at this and it changes my perception a bit. Actually it may just be him. There are always exceptions to the rule. *winks*

Oh I just loved Drew and his playfulness. He was scrumptiously wonderful. How he got the "flu" was also cute. He was a strong arrogant man who was acting sick but we know he's just emotionally sick. If you know what I mean. He had something in him that makes me go "aww" and I love it. I love it when I find these cute little things characters do. Kind of like when Matt from Night Owl has his compassion for animals. Drew messed up with Katherine, but when he tried to get her back, I don't know if he made me swoon or laugh at his tactics. Either way, Drew had me.

I also like Katherine for being such an awesome heroine. She was strong willed and she had this inner strength that had me rooting for her till the end.

I enjoyed following the story line and how the characters reacted to each event. You can expect a lot of fights between the Katherine and Drew, but they were mostly funny. I'd love to read this again if I had a nice angst filled book making me have another book hangover.

There's already a short story accompanying the book called Holy Frigging Matrimony which out for only .99 cents! Also you can now pre order the next book called Twisted

The blurb was right. it's outrageous, passionate and definitely witty. I can't wait for book two. Two thumbs up to Emma Chase. I can't wait to read more books from this author.

Book Review: Until November by Aurora Rose Reynolds

Until November (Until Series Book 1)
~1st Person POV

A nice sweet book which will keep you happy for a couple of hours. It has its troubled times, but nothing too "angsty". It's a nice book to read after more dramatic novels. It's a good read, but it's not very striking to one's mind. I liked the characters, but I didn't feel the "this is it!" factor.

Synopsis from Goodreads:
"November is looking forward to getting to know her father and the safety of a small town. After leaving the Big Apple and her bad memories for Tennessee, November starts working for her dad at his strip club doing the books. The one time she’s allowed there during club hours she runs into Asher Mayson. He’s perfect until he opens his mouth and makes assumptions. November wants nothing to do with Asher but too bad for November, fate has other plans.

Asher Mayson has never had a problem getting a woman, that is until November. Now all he can think about is making November his and keeping her safe. "

Before I read this book, I was a bit intrigued at how Asher was working for the strip club. I seriously thought it would be like Magic Mike *lol* but no! Asher isn't a stripper, he only checks up on the security at the club. I liked November's father. He seems like a very nice man, but he and his brother owns a strip club. If I met him in real life, I bet I wouldn't even have any idea he's interested in owning a strip club. I liked how the town felt real to me. People were nice, but rumor easily goes around. I just felt like the setting was nice and Asher's house was a nice touch.

Asher, the handsome and sexy business owner who built his own house was wonderful. He's a good guy with a bad boy image. I liked it. I thought he was a little too alpha possessive. I would have gone nuts if he was a real person. After I read the whole book though, I was interested in Asher more. I was a little too annoyed though at how Asher kept using "baby" in every line in the middle of the story. The word was over used and I kept telling myself he didn't use it in the sentence before.

November is a really nice heroine, she's brave and kind. As much as I like her, I couldn't put her on my favorite heroines list. I remember Asher's personality and behavior more than November. Is it just me or is she a bit forgettable?

Overall, there were a few scenes where I wish it was shorter, and some which I wanted longer. The final battle or problem they had to face seemed really nice for me, but it ended a little too tamely and quickly. I would have loved to see Asher act on it too.

I've read this book days ago, but I wasn't able to write about it, until now. It's amazing how I still remember it well and it wasn't buried in the past after I've read several books recently. It's a good book to recommend. There are parts which showed how sweet Asher was, and I want to share those, but I want to keep this as spoiler free as possible as well. To say things simply, it was sugary sweet.

I can't wait to read the following books which will be about Asher's brothers, and boy are they good lookin!

★★★★½ ~~~ 4.5 Stars!
